Birth Basics

This is a 4-hour class taught by Danielle Sollars. She will cover four main topics: informed decision-making, the labor process, coping and comfort measures, labor positions, pushing, and birth. Each couple will receive a bag filled of items that can help support you during labor. This class is perfect for first-time parents or anyone wanting a little more than what a hospital childbirth class offers.

Perfect for first time parents or as a refresher!

This class will cover four main topics: informed decision-making, the labor process, coping and comfort measures, labor positions, pushing, and birth.  How do I know when I'm in labor? When should I go to the hospital or call the midwife? How can my partner support me through labor? How can I prevent tearing? This class will answer all those questions and more.

As an evidence-based class, we do not promote one specific method of birthing. This class promotes the goal of a safe and healthy birth for mom and baby. It's structured to empower you by being informed of your options and being in the driver's seat when it comes to making decisions about your care and how you choose to give birth.

This is a semi-private class with only 1-3 couples.  The class is centered around PowerPoint, class discussion, and practicing hands-on comfort measure techniques.  We have pillows, blankets, yoga mats, and birth balls available for use during class.  Coffee, water, and snacks are provided.  The best part, each couple will go home with a bag filled with items that can help support you during labor.

As a second-time parent, I regret not having taken a birth class during my first pregnancy.  If you're questioning whether taking a birth class is beneficial or not, it is SO WORTH IT, and I highly recommend Danielle.
